While you”re visiting the Crystal Coast of North Carolina be sure to check out Cedar Island. It”s one of the most charming coastal towns you”ll find on the east coast. 

If you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place. There are only 350 permanent residents and there is plenty of space on the beautiful beaches. Cedar Island is only about 4 miles long and has a few businesses. 

You”ll find everything you need here, but if you”re looking for a Wal-Mart you may need to gas up because its a good ride. 

If you”re looking for a laid back and charming fishing community, you”ve found the right place my friend. You”ll find good weather here throughout most of the year. Due to the coastal breezes its cooler in the summer compared to inland areas. In the winter Cedar Island enjoys warmer temperatures than you typically find inland. 

Perhaps you really enjoy kayaking. This area is rapidly becoming a kayaking mecca. Surrounded by protected waterways and light boat traffic there are literally hundreds of miles of world-class sea kayaking.

If you want to take some horses for a ride on the beach there”s a horse stable in Cedar Island that will let you do just that. The possibilities are truly endless here.
